Several cars were damaged by vandals in the Irvine Drive area of Margate during a terrible rampage
More than a dozen cars have been attacked by angry vandals in an area where fed up residents say they have been hit by crime.
Families, including young children, were awakened in the early hours of the morning by the screams and curses of an aggressive gang in the Irvine Drive area of Margate – with a thug yelling the C-word generously.

In the relentless attack after 4 a.m., car windows were smashed and wing mirrors were broken, skipping some vehicles.
One resident said that when his husband yelled at the group from a window, he was told, “Come here and I’ll cut you up.”
Vehicles on Irvine Drive, William Avenue, Tomlin Drive and Friends Avenue were among the targets affected by the destruction.
Tray Bella, 38, mother of two, was awakened by the four jobs, but she believes only one of them participated in the vandalism.
She saw wing mirrors kicked and a bat jumped on a car, damaging the windshield.

“There’s always fights, drunk people and bikes zooming around, it’s an absolute nightmare,” she said.
“I’ve been here for 13 years and it’s been so bad for the last couple of years.
“It’s always worse in summer, so we always pray for winter because it’s not that bad.”
Ms. Bella, who has stage three colon cancer, hasn’t left home in a year because she is on chemotherapy and has to isolate herself amid the pandemic.
“It’s awful because I have to relax and I can’t sleep,” she added.

“I’ve had cancer treatment for two years and keep getting woken up, which is not fair because I vomit but can’t go back to sleep.
“There are some absolutely nice people and my neighbors took care of me because of my cancer, but there is a small group that makes it hell for everyone.”
The exact extent of the damage has not yet been confirmed, but Ms. Bella is aware of at least 16 cars that have been damaged.
An official confirmed by a police spokesman is investigating reports that a number of cars were damaged in the Irvine Drive area of Margate between 4 a.m. and around 5 a.m. today.
“Officials visited the area and are conducting ongoing investigations, including identifying potential CCTV opportunities,” they said.
