No injuries after a car fire in the Irvine retail park

There were no fatalities in a fire that struck a black Audi at a retail park in North Ayrshire over the weekend.

The fire was reported at East Road Retail Park in Irvine on Sunday June 6th while shocked shoppers watched.

Police were not involved in the incident, but the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that no casualties were reported after the fire was extinguished.

The retail park houses Aldi, Halfords and Dominos Pizza.

An SFRS spokesman said: “We were alerted at 2:30 pm on Sunday June 6th about reports of a burning car in East Road Retail Park in Irvine.

“The operations management mobilized a device and firefighters put out a fire in a car.
