Jack Ross has confirmed another contract meeting with Jackson Irvine.
But they won’t resume until a week after the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.
The Australian midfielder was a successful addition to the Hibs squad, who finished third in the Scottish Premier League table last night with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen in Pittodrie.
You must play Celtic on Easter Road before attention can be drawn to the big one against St. Johnstone in Hampden on May 22nd.
And given what is still at stake for the Hibees despite last night’s win, both Ross and Irvine are content to sit back down and see where they are at the end of the season.
Ross said, “I had a good conversation with Jackson last week. He still has a lot to weigh up and knows our position on it.

“Given the importance of the games we had ahead of us, we agreed to speak again at the end of the season.
“I actually told him he did well because he bought another week of time by reaching the cup final!
“I felt comfortable with it and so did he. We are still hopeful and positive and I think we are still a very serious option for him to move forward.
“As soon as we’ve got the league games and the cup final out of the way, we have to bring them to a close for both parties.”
