ICEYE Opens New Spacecraft Manufacturing Facility in Irvine, California, and expands US manufacturing, research and customer operations

“With our new manufacturing facility in the US, we will add significant next-generation capabilities to our space and ground segments,” he said Jerry Welsh, CEO of ICEYE US. “This gives us the most reliable operational foundation and gives us the flexibility and efficiency to best serve the needs of our customers in the US government.”

In response to the company’s rapid growth and strong customer demand, ICEYE US is hiring talent with expertise in spacecraft engineering, assembly, integration and testing, project management, software development, ground support, sales and customer service. The company expects offices on the east and west coasts by mid-2021.

“Like other aerospace centers across the country, Southern California has a rich legacy of space, a huge talent pool, and an excellent base of suppliers and partners, “he said Deepak Grover, Vice President of Operations at ICEYE US. “We look forward to continuing our growth path and Irvine is the perfect place to set up our new facility. “

To better serve US customers, ICEYE has signed an agreement with In-Q-Tel to accelerate the delivery of cutting-edge functionality to US government organizations. In-Q-Tel identifies and works with companies that develop innovations that have both high national security implications and the potential for commercial success.

“ICEYE’s world-class SAR satellites and their market-leading global coverage enable coverage regardless of the time of day and weather conditions. We are pleased and pleased to be able to offer this technology to our government partners,” he said Simon Davidson, Managing Partner, In-Q-Tel and EVP, IQT Emerge.

“It is our privilege to work with In-Q-Tel to deploy advanced technology that is relevant to our US customers,” he said Eric Jensen, President of ICEYE US. “Our new facility strengthens ICEYE’s ability to provide rapid decision-making insights, build assets for US missions, and meet the hybrid architecture requirements of the US government as a trusted commercial service provider.”

At any given time, most of the earth is covered with clouds or darkness. Unlike traditional earth observation satellites, ICEYE’s small radar imaging satellites can produce high-resolution images of earth areas in daylight, at night and through cloud cover. You can “see” every part of the earth several times a day. ICEYE has successfully launched 10 missions to date and operates the world’s largest fleet of commercial SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites.
