Hibs discover the fate of Irvine Welsh SFA after a machete comment on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos
Hibs escaped punishment from the SFA after Irvine Welsh made controversial comments on Alfredo Morelos.
Author Welsh sparked anger when he appeared on Hibs TV as an expert on a Premiership clash against Rangers in January.
While analyzing an altercation between Ryan Porteous and Morelos, he said the Colombian should be “broken into small pieces”.
The SFA opened an investigation into his statements, but the Osterstrasse site will take no action after apologizing and removing all footage of the incident, reports STV.
However, Hibs have been warned about future broadcasts and the behavior of guests on their in-house TV platform.
Welsh made the remarks when he met the Rangers forward on a challenge against Porteous.

He said, “Morelos should have left. That was outrageous.
“He should have been shown the red for it, no question about it, if it had been Porteous he would have been gone.”
When asked if the referee should have acted, he said, “Yeah, I mean where is he? Morelos was basically meant to be chopped into small pieces and sent in different packages to different corners of the world for such a challenge.
“And somehow consumed by seagulls.”
