Duck Donuts shops in Huntington Seashore and Irvine would be the chain’s first places in California to supply vegan donuts
How about a donut to celebrate World Vegan Day?
Duck Donuts in Huntington Beach and Irvine will have the goods. They are the first two stores in California to offer a vegan version of the chain’s customizable cake donut. It will be launched in other stores in the country in 2020 according to customer requirements.
“As the vegan consumer industry continues to grow in the US, so does the demand for an accessible and tasty vegan product,” said Russ DiGilio, founder and CEO of Duck Donuts. “After much research, trial and error, and in-store testing, we are ready to launch our first alternative basic donut option that will allow us to reach a new audience of customers who now have our warm, delicious donuts in the same unique shape Can enjoy atmosphere made to order. “

At Duck, an international chain that started in North Carolina, donuts are made to order and then loaded with toppings of your choice: sprinkles, frosting, drizzle, crushed cookies, sprinkles, peanuts, and more. The shops offer coffee, espresso, donut breakfast rolls, and donut sundaes.
Local franchisee Gary Kopel is excited for customers to try the vegan version.
“Since opening in 2018, we have received many requests from customers for a vegan donut, reflecting consumer demand and the taste for the lifestyle of those in Orange County,” said Kopel. “We are very excited to be the first Duck Donuts store to expand our product offering with the launch of our new vegan donut.”
