ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Sgt. Pepperonis Pizza Store, a long-time popular Orange County’s pizza place, today announced that its next and third location will open on Campus Plaza in Irvine in May.
Sgt. Pepps is run by four OK families and is known for its allusion to the Beatles and its New York-style cakes with a Californian twist. There are currently restaurants in Aliso Viejo and Newport Beach, as well as a food truck for catering and events.
“Cool Flavor Profiles” are in the works for the new website’s offerings, said Stan Frazier, one of the Sgt. Pepperoni partners. “We look forward to sharing our signature pies and introducing new concepts to the Irvine community,” he said.
The four Orange County couples, Ellen and Rob Dodman, Jennifer and Stan Frazier, Grace and Andy Hong, and Erica and Jeff Roberts, met and bonded through their children’s schools, sports and activities before becoming pizza partners. In 2013, the team bought the 1976 Newport Beach company from its founders. In 2020 the pizzeria opened its second restaurant in the city center of Aliso Viejo.
At its newest location in Irvine, the website offers seasonal specialties as well as the restaurant’s standard menu with freshly prepared, handcrafted pizzas such as the “Hawaii Five-O” with pepperoni, pineapple, sweet New York ricotta and spicy pickled jalapeno, the “meatball ricotta” , made from “Stan’s Meatballs”, ricotta, mozzarella and marinara, and “Grandma’s Pie”, a square version with mozzarella, marinara and fresh basil.
Also on menus: sandwiches; Wing; Dessert; and pizza dough “pinwheels”. This month’s seasonal pizza offer from Sgt. Pepps combines shaved ham, Fontina cheese, asparagus, shallots, allspice, garlic and parmesan.
The new Irvine Restaurant on 4533 Campus Drive will include a 2,500-square-foot dining room and outdoor deck, free Wi-Fi, and interior design that pays homage to the Beatles – inspiration from Sgt. The Band. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Album.
The now growing Sgt. The Pepperoni Chain is also a focal point for events for local schools, sports teams, and charities, along with their commitment to fundraising for Julian’s LEGO Corner at CHOC Children’s Hospital. In line with this goal, the restaurant will donate all of the proceeds from its dessert, Lauren’s Cookie, to Julian’s LEGO Corner, the company announced.
